Who We Are
Our History
WELCOME TO THE MAGICAL, MUSICAL REALM of JAHRI’S WORLD! GREETINGS, my name is Jerry Turner, founder and creative director of JAHRI’S WORLD, an educational and recreational program for young children.
Initially the creation of JAHRI’S WORLD in 2021 occurred as an extension of my work with developmentally disabled young children. As I shared my love of music with many young clients, I was able to see firsthand how the power of music impacted every child in a positive way. It was very gratifying to see the joy that the children experienced through our music activities.
Beyond the fun, I saw the educational power of SONGS. I observed how the language used in songs pulled the children in and guided them to connect with the ideas and concepts expressed through the words. And not just academic information but social-emotional topics, too. The repertoire of songs in JAHRI’S WORLD includes the ABC’s, state capitals, days of the week, friendship, family relationships and much more. Many of our songs tell imaginative stories meant simply to stimulate the participants imagination that bring smiles, laughter and movement to flow unrestrained upon the children!
A primary goal of JAHRI’S WORLD is to help children learn and retain basic academic and social skills using rhythmic melodies set in styles of pop and HIP-HOP music familiar to the children. Our songs are enjoyed by the entire family! We pride ourselves on being radically flexible to serving small, medium and large groups. Our presentations are interactive, appropriately designed for school, community or private events. Shows can be tailored to last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. On special occasions Jahri's World can perform upwards to 3 hours. Jahri’s World is proud to be designated as Autism-Friendly by educators and parents.
